Bugaboo vs. Uppababy Vista
Q: I am having a really hard time deciding between these two strollers. At one shop a sales associate even tried to sell me on the City Select but I really think it is between the Bugaboo Cameleon and the Vista. I am pregnant with our second child. My first will be 3 when this one comes along so I really need one that will comfortably accomodate the two together without alot of hassle of moving seats around. My main issue with the Cameleon is that it wont accomodate a second seat. I do however love the color combos and different fabrics. How is the wheeled boards (piggyback)on the Bugaboo vs. the Vista? Is the Cameleon worth the extra money over the Vista? Thanks.

A: Since this is your second child, you should go with the Vista. The Vista will comfortably accommodate both children, and can even hold a third if you plan on expanding your family. While the Cameleon is an amazing stroller to say the least, it won’t accommodate both children comfortably. The wheeled board is great for a walk to the park, or a quick stop at the grocery store, but if you want to go shopping for a few hours, your 3 year old will eventually get tired and need to sit down. You won’t want your day cut short due to a sleepy child! So rather than having to worry about it, go for the Vista where both children can sit peacefully.

I hope this helps!

A: I have two great options for you: the ever-popular Graco SnugRide Platinum Infant Car Seat, or the Maxi-Cosi Mico Infant Car Seat. Both are terrific infant car seats and top of the line as far as safety is concerned. It’s just a personal preference on which style you prefer. Be sure to pick up the coordinating adapter for the car seat you choose, and you should be all set!

A: We work hard to offer an edited assortment of the best products for our customers’ lifestyles, and sometimes that means having to choose between two great products. Phil & Teds strollers are great, but we’ve chosen to carry the UPPAbaby Vista as our choice for an inline stroller for a growing family. There’s nothing we don’t like about Phil & Teds, but the UPPAbaby can hold up to 3 children and has some additional features that we love. Hope that helps!

A: Great question! Purchasing a stroller is a big decision and can sometimes get difficult. The Baby Jogger City Mini (http://www.giggle.com/p/25655/Baby-Jogger-City-Mini.aspx?s=1&keyword=city+mini) is a fantastic stroller for city dwellers because it’s lightweight and has a quick and easy single-hand fold. This makes getting around town super easy and hassle-free.

If you’d like a fully loaded stroller that comes with both a bassinet and toddler seat, check out the UPPAbaby Vista. http://www.giggle.com/p/26719/UPPAbaby-Vista-2010.aspx?s=1&keyword=uppababy This stroller is packed with features and functionality at a great price! It has shock absorbing suspension, which will give you and your baby a smooth ride and easy handling. And if you plan on growing your family, this stroller has the capability to hold up to 3 children!

Since you live in Chicago, stop in to the giggle store on North Halsted Street to get a demo on each stroller and test drive them both before making a decision.
Hope this is helpful, and good luck!

A: Wow, you’ve picked two amazing strollers! The Cameleon and Orbit are both premium strollers that are extremely easy to handle, and I’d call them even as far as maneuverability. So which one is best for you? It all depends on your lifestyle and how you’ll be using it.

The Orbit has quite a few technical design features that make it a great solution for new parents, from the easy-to-install car seat base to the one-handed fold-down of the stroller (which is huge!). It also has a seat that swivels, which is an exciting new feature you won’t find anywhere else. Its extraordinary design and adaptability keep parents mobile, and it’s the only stroller on the market that has a toddler car seat that can attach to the stroller base.

The Bugaboo Cameleon continues to be a great overall choice for a stylish, contemporary, multi-purpose and smart stroller. It’s known for styling, and it has a second child solution as opposed to the Orbit, which doesn’t.

If you’re near a giggle store, stop in and check out both strollers. You’ll want to test drive any stroller you’re thinking about purchasing to make sure it’s the right fit for you. I’m sure you’ll be highly impressed with both strollers functionality and maneuverability.

A: This is a tough one because both of these are amazing! I’ve had experience using both strollers, and what I think you’d really value in the Cameleon is the weight. It weighs about 4 lbs less than the Xplory, and with strollers, that’s so important, especially if you have to lift it in and out of a car, or up and down stairs.

Another thing to consider is where you’ll use your stroller. Both strollers handle very well and are very maneuverable. But the Xplory is more of an urban stroller, best used on streets and sidewalks, and you won’t have as much flexibility. The Cameleon, on the other hand, is an all-terrain stroller, meaning it’s great on- or off-road, making those trips to the park a breeze! It has premium foam tires and suspension, which will provide you with a smooth ride for you and your baby.

I hope this information helps you with your decision-making. If you have further questions, just ask!

uppa baby vista
Q: i have a 2.7yr old and an infant 2months old. will the uppa baby vista hold my toddler son over 30lbs? and the new baby? ive heard the phil and teds vibe is really bad with tires popping etc. is that true? would we be better off with uppa baby or something else?

A: Yes, the seat that comes with the Vista holds children up to 50 pounds, so your son won’t outgrow it anytime soon. But you will have to play a little bit of musical chairs as your children grow. Let me explain:

Only the seat that comes with the stroller (the one closest to you in the two-seat configuration) is suitable for infants under six months, because it reclines to a nearly flat position. So until your newborn is sitting unassisted, he or she will be in the original seat, while your toddler will be in the Rumbleseat (which holds children up to 35 pounds).

In a few months, you’ll want to switch the order, because your toddler will have outgrown the Rumbleseat, and your baby will be ready to move in to it. Make sense? I know it can sound confusing, so let me know if you have other questions.

If you’re near a giggle location, stop in to check out Vista. I’m sure you’ll be just as impressed as we are, especially since this stroller is our best pick for a growing family! And remember, if your family continues to grow, you can always add the Piggyback RideAlong Board later, which would allow your older son to to ride standing!

As for the tire issue with Phil & Teds Vibe, I only heard of that happening once or twice, but you won't have that issue with the Vista since the tires are rubber-coated and won't go flat.

Baby Jogger City Select
Q: Have you tested the Baby Jogger City Select stroller yet? I am deciding between it and the Uppa Baby for my 10 month old twins - both grow with the family and can accomodate car seats. Before I make the big purchase, I would love your opinion

A: We have looked into the City Select stroller, but our top pick for a growing family is the UppaBaby Vista. This is a beautifully designed and highly functional stroller system that is packed with features. With the addition of the rumble seat, it can hold two babies on the single-stroller frame, and you can even add a Piggyback board so a third child can ride along. In fact, it’s the only in-line, 3-child solution on the market.

Between the high-performance wheels and the shock-absorbing suspension, this stroller can deal with everything from city streets to park trails, resulting in a smooth ride for your child and easy handling for you.

Some other amazing benefits this stroller has to offer include: 4 reclining seat positions, adjustable handle bar, and a one-step fold…just to name a few. If you’re near a giggle location, test the stroller out with your twins to see how you like it!

A: Thanks for asking! Our best pick for a twin stroller is the Maclaren Twin Techno for its easy fold and sleek design. It’s one of the lightest weight double strollers on the market, and can be used from birth. If you lead an active lifestyle, we love the BOB Revolution Duallie Jogging Stroller. It’s a great all-terrain stroller with phenomenal maneuverability. Can’t go wrong with either one!

Another must-have is the Skip Duo Double Deluxe diaper bag. It’s large enough to hold all your baby essentials times two! And, there are lots of compartments, so it’ll help you stay organized. For a baby monitor, I recommend the Day and Night Flat Screen Color Video Monitor, because the screen is a little bigger – perfect for keeping an eye on two babies!

Hope this information is helpful. If you need more help, just ask!
