When to switch to toddler?
Q: I know the last question asked a similar question however, my baby is not 22 lbs but she's quite long and her feet are starting to stick outside the infant seat - about 26 inches now. does this mean i should invest in the toddler car seat now?

A: The infant car seat does go up to 22 lbs and 29” tall, so you should be able to get a little more use out of it. You’ll need to transition to the toddler car seat soon enough, though, so you might as well go ahead and and get it now so you’ll have it on hand when the time comes. By the way, this is one of the BEST features the Orbit Stroller has to offer. No other stroller has the capability to attach a toddler car seat to it, so enjoy!

A: Thanks for writing! With this system, you start with the infant set-up, which includes the stroller chassis, infant car seat and car seat base, and holds infants up to 22 lbs and 29 inches. When your baby gets a little bigger, you can still use your stroller with the addition of the Orbit Toddler Stroller Seat (sold separately), which lets you stroll in style all the way up to 40 pounds! A: A HUGE reason we love the Orbit Infant System is because it can be used for children up to 40 pounds by using the Orbit Toddler Car Seat (http://www.giggle.com/p/20547/Orbit-Toddler-Stroller-Seat.aspx?cc=BA&s=1&keyword=orbit), which easily attaches onto the frame just like the infant car seat and optional bassinet do. Since this stroller is jam packed with features and optional accessories, you won’t have to purchase any other stroller (although, if you’re like many parents, you may end up wanting a collapsible, lightweight stroller for convenience as your baby becomes a toddler).

Happy strolling!

what is the size and weight difference of the orbit to the bugaboo bee
Q: I am looking at both options and wondering what the difference is between the two strollers for both weight and size? Im 5'2", 115 lbs and prefer a lightweight system. Also, I want to easily use this stroller at restaurants and store in San Francisco.

Thanks!

A: Great question! Since the Orbit Infant System is a fully-loaded stroller, meaning there is a bassinet and toddler seat option, it’s a bit heavier and bigger. The infant car seat weighs 9.8 lbs, and the stroller base weighs 14.7 lbs, making the complete system 24.5 lbs. But, since it breaks down in two pieces, it doesn’t feel quite as heavy as it sounds, and you can do it with one hand!

The Bugaboo Bee is considered Bugaboo’s lightweight option, weighing in at 17 pounds. Both strollers are very maneuverable and fantastic options for San Francisco, but if you’re looking for a compact, lightweight stroller option, I recommend the Bugaboo Bee. But, keep in mind, the Bee has one seat you’ll use from infant to toddler, and doesn’t have a separate bassinet or toddler seat option.

A: Thanks for writing. Unfortunately, the Orbit Infant car seat is a little too wide to fit into a shopping cart seat, but it’s so convenient in so many other ways, you probably won’t even mind!
