A: Absolutely! The Travel Crib Light is approved by the ASTM for use as a permanent crib, so you can use it as long as you need until you move to a full size crib. It has a thick, breathable foam mattress which will be perfect for a newborn.

Unfortunately, there is no attachment for a bassinet. It’s kind of a tradeoff: parents adore the Peapod when they’re on the road because it’s so lightweight and portable. I see what you mean about the solid sides going up high on the crib, but it’s a made of a very breathable cotton/poly blend that you can actually see through in the light. The suffocation risk with this crib is extremely low and highly unlikely.
