Age...
Q: My daughter is traveling with us to Thailand in two months..she will be 5 and a half months old at that time. She is above average (85%) for height and weight. Will this stroller be appropriate for travel to Thailand; and, more importantly, is it appropriate for her age?? Thank you.

A: Because the seat doesn’t recline fully, the Volo is recommended for babies starting at six months, when they can sit up on their own. It sounds like your daughter will be close, so if this is the stroller your really want and if she’s sitting up when the time comes, you could probably get by with using it two weeks early. If your daughter isn’t quite there, check out the Maclaren Quest Sport (http://www.giggle.com/p/24646/Maclaren-Quest-Sport-2009.aspx?s=1&keyword=quest). Weighing in at only 12.1 lbs, the Quest is a great travel stroller. It has 4 seat positions, making it easy for her to nap, and it’s suitable from 3 months on. Happy travels!

A: Not at all! In fact, no matter what stroller you start out with, most parents end up buying a second stroller that does whatever the first one doesn’t, and often that means adding an easily-collapsible umbrella stroller. Weighing in at only 8.6 lbs (as opposed to the Bee’s 17 lbs), the super-lightweight Volo is incredibly easy to travel with, and it’s perfect for when you’re in and out of a car or public transportation. We love the Bee because you can use it from birth, but the Volo is a great choice for a second stroller!
