Is the flat screen monitor a plug-in? I like the idea of a larger screen but I know I will be needing to monitor my child in different rooms depending on what I am doing. Is it easily portable?

The Day and Night Flat Screen Montior must be mounted, so it’s best to keep this in one spot. If you are looking for a portable video monitor, check out the Mobicam AV Monitor (http://www.giggle.com/p/23827/MobiCam-AV-Monitor.aspx?s=1&keyword=mobicam). It doesn’t have as large a screen as the Day and Night monitor, but it’s installation free, so you can transport this all over your house

Interference?
Q:
How is this monitor with respect to interference? I see that Giggle recommends the Phillips DECT Monitor, but that has no video monitor. Is there a video monitor you recommend that is also great at combatting interference from wireless phones, etc...

Purchasing a monitor can definitely be tricky! What works great for one parent might not work for another; it all depends on how much and what kind of interference you’re getting in and around your home.
The Philips DECT Monitor is the only monitor on the market that guarantees zero interference, which is especially great for crowded urban areas. But that doesn’t mean a video monitor will necessarily be a problem. If your heart is set on keeping an eye and an ear on your baby, your best bet is to give a video monitor a try and see if it works in your home. If it isn’t the right fit for you, we’d be happy to exchange it for you!
The portable Mobicam AV still comes in as “best of class” for video monitor technology, and the Summer Day and Night is also a fantastic monitor that comes in a different format with a larger screen. You won’t know which video monitor works for you until you try it out. If you love the big screen on this one, go for it!
