A: Believe it or not, the Philips monitor doesn’t operate on any frequency! It works on digital technology, also known as DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunication), rather than analog frequency.

As for safety, there is no conclusive evidence regarding baby monitor frequencies and safety. The latest findings from the World Health Organization found no problems associated with low level EMF, and they even studied pregnant women working in the electronics industry (see http://www.who.int/peh-emf/about/WhatisEMF/en/index1.html for more information).

However, as a general rule of precaution, we follow Healthy Child Healthy World’s recommendation that parents keep all electronics several feet away from cribs to reduce exposure (see www.healthychildhealthyworld.org). Hope this helps!
