A: Yes, you are able to use the car seat without the base during short trips. The Chicco KeyFit 30 has seatbelt hooks exposed on either side of the car seat. How tight does the base have to be?

Q: I just bought this car seat and I noticed that when I install it with the shoulder belt, the base is not tight enough. I can move it and it is loose. I have tried numerous times and I still get the same result. (By the way, my car does not have the latch system.)
My other child has an Evenflo car seat and when I install it it does not move a inch.

A: If your car seat moves more than one inch in any direction, then you know it’s not in correctly, so from what you’re describing, it does sound like there is some sort of problem. I’m assuming (but want to make sure) that you’re following the instructions in the manual. If you have followed the instructions and still aren’t having any luck, try stopping by your local fire station. Believe it or not, they can help parents make sure their seats are installed properly, so they should be able to help you identify the problem.

A: Yes, this car seat comes with a base. You can buy an extra base if you want to have one installed in a second car, but this has everything you need to set up one car!

Wheel base for Chicco KeyFit

Q: Hi

When I purchased the Chicco KeyFit, the sales consultant told me it was compatable with the Maclaren Travel base. However, upon reading the comments in the Q&A it said it wasn't... can you please confirm? It was the main reason why we purchased the car seat.

A: Unfortunately, the Chicco KeyFit car seat isn’t compatible with the Maclaren EZ Traveler at this time, so I’m so sorry if you were given incorrect information. We’d be happy to exchange either or both items for you, as long as they haven’t been used and you still have all the original packaging. (If they’re unopened, we can exchange for the full price, and if they have been opened, we take off a 20% restocking fee.) Again, sorry for the inconvenience!

A: Yes, this very safe and functional car seat is compatible with the Chicco C1 stroller. It does come with one base so you can install it right away. We sell extra bases in case you have two cars. If you have a base in each car, it makes transferring from car to car much easier!

Q: i emailed baby jogger and they said they were working on a car seat adapter specifically for the Chicco brand of car seats to be available in late january. is that available yet and will you have it? i want to get the chicco keyfit30 and the city mini stroller.

A: Unfortunately, there is a delay and the adapter for the Chicco Keyfit will not be shipping to us until April.
