different heights as bassinet?
Q: Can you lower the mattress while the crib is configured as a bassinet? Or is there only one height?

Thanks!

A: Like most bassinets, this one only has one mattress position. Since babies sleep in the bassinet for the first 4-6 months at most, it’s not necessary to have an adjustable mattress platform because they won’t be very active yet. Once you transition to the crib, you’ll have three mattress heights!

Staff Answer
A: In accordance with the JPMA requirement that slats be spaced no more than 2.375 inches apart, the Bam System slats are 2.17 inches apart. Remember, the crib converts using the same pieces from the bassinet, so the slat spacing on all parts are the same distance.

Crib Skirt clarification
Q: Hi,

I saw that in one answer it said a crib skirt can absolutely be used with the Bam crib, but in another it said that a crib skirt would not work. Do you know if it is possible to use a crib skirt with it?

Thank you.

Staff Answer
A: Technically yes, you can make a standard crib skirt work with the Bam Crib. However, because of the unique six-point leg design (which increases the safety and strength of the crib), a standard crib skirt has to have slits cut in the corners to work with the additional legs of a Bam Crib. Therefore, as a general rule, we don’t recommend the use of crib skirts with this crib.

crib sold separately?
Q: I was wondering if the full size crib is sold without the bassinet. I already have a bassinet, so I'm only interested in purchasing the larger of the two. Thanks.

A: Good question! No, the crib is not sold as an individual piece. However, take note that the Crib/Bassinet system does not consist of 2 separate complete units. Think of it as the bassinet with a crib conversion kit included. So, with the Bam system, you'd go straight to assembling the full crib, and the only pieces left to store would the bassinet mattress platform, castors, and support brackets, which would take up minimal space. There is also the bassinet mattress, and that could be repurposed as a cushy playmat! Think about it...the Bam System is an awesome value for such great quality and function, it is hard to pass up!

Sheets for bassinet
Q: What size sheet fits on the bassinet mattress? Does a standard pack 'n play sheet work or is there a special sized sheet?

A: The Bam Bassinet does have sheets that are specially sized to fit the bassinet mattress. Playard sheets are a different shape and size, so they will not work securely with the Bam Bassinet.

Two 100% organic cotton sheets are included when you purchase the Bassinet or Crib/Bassinet system, or you can purchase a set of two sheets separately! Check them out here:

bassinet sheets / crib skirt
Q: I've seen notes that perhaps two bassinet sheets are included. Does that apply to this system, or just to the bassinet when purchased on its own? And can a standard skirt be used with the crib? Thanks in advance!

A: Yes, the Bam Crib/Bassinet System does include 2 organic bassinet sheets. You are able to use a standard crib skirt with the Bam system, but the skirt would need modifications to fit the crib properly. If having the aesthetic of a crib skirt is important to you, it can definitely be done with some adjustments.

Naturepedic mattress fit Argington BAM crib?
Q: Do the seamless Naturepedic organic mattresses fit the Argington BAM crib? I know some buyers/reviewers have reported that some of the Naturepedic mattresses don't end up fitting their crib (too tight), and I was wondering if you've tested or heard customer feedback about this mattress and crib combo?

A: We have not heard of any issues with the giggle Cotton Organic Mattress being too tight for the Bam crib. The mattress dimensions are 52"L x 28"W x 6"H while the crib is 54.5"L x 30"W x 38"H, so it should fit inside with room to spare!
